Prayagraj — A heart-wrenching incident from Kanti village under Ghoorpur police station limits has shaken the entire region. The murder mystery that had puzzled police for several days has finally been solved — the gruesome killing of a 15-year-old girl was committed not by an outsider, but by her own father.
Our team had earlier reported this shocking case when the girl’s body was found just a short distance from her house, creating an atmosphere of fear across the village. At that time, the crime appeared to be the work of someone outside the family, but the truth that has now come to light has left everyone stunned.
According to the police investigation, the accused father suspected his daughter’s character and was enraged over her “behavior.” Driven by anger, he decided to end her life. Sources revealed that he mixed sleeping pills in her dinner, and once she fell into a deep sleep, he slit her throat with a sharp weapon. Later, he dumped the body a few meters away from the house to mislead investigators.
Since the incident, police had been continuously interrogating the family members. The postmortem report turned the case in a new direction — it revealed that the girl was killed during the night, contrary to the family’s claim that she had left home early in the morning. Undigested food found in her stomach further confirmed the police’s suspicion.
DCP Vivek Chandra Yadav stated that four special teams were formed to investigate the case. After interrogating multiple witnesses and gathering crucial evidence, the father’s role was confirmed. He has now confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating the role of the mother to determine whether she was involved in this horrific conspiracy.
