According to reports from Dainik Bhaskar and local media, the mysterious death of a young doctor in the Georgetown area of Prayagraj has raised several serious questions. The case appears both tragic and puzzling.
The deceased has been identified as Dr. Kartikeya Srivastava, a resident of Kotdwar in Uttarakhand. He was working on a contractual basis at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital in Prayagraj.
The incident took place in Tulsi Apartment, located under the jurisdiction of Georgetown police station. The flat belongs to a female doctor, who is said to be known to Dr. Kartikeya.
According to initial information, Dr. Kartikeya had visited his female friend late on Sunday night. After spending some time there, he went to the bathroom but did not come out for a long time. When there was no response, the door was broken open, and he was found unconscious inside.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The biggest mystery in this case emerged when it was found that a cannula (Vigo) was inserted in his hand. A cannula is typically used for administering IV fluids or injections directly into the veins.
Sources also claim that some anesthesia-related injections and medicines were recovered from the spot. This has led to suspicion that he might have injected something into himself. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and called the forensic team. The flat has been sealed for investigation.
Police are currently examining CCTV footage from the apartment to understand the sequence of events and the condition in which the doctor entered the flat.
The female doctor, in whose flat the incident occurred, is also being questioned. Police are trying to gather details about their relationship and what happened that night.
At present, the exact cause of death is not clear. It will be determined only after the postmortem report and forensic analysis are completed.
Whether this is a case of suicide, accidental overdose, or something more serious is still under investigation.
