In a major relief for women ahead of the Holi festival, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a free gas cylinder distribution program today at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow. The Chief Minister will attend the special event and symbolically distribute free LPG cylinders to eligible women beneficiaries.
The initiative aims to support economically weaker and needy families by reducing their household expenses, especially the cost of cooking gas. With rising prices, LPG cylinders have become a significant burden for many families. This scheme is expected to provide direct relief to lakhs of women, allowing them to celebrate the festival without financial stress.
According to officials, the scheme will be implemented across the state in phases, and eligible beneficiaries will receive the benefit gradually. The government considers this step important for women’s welfare and empowerment, as it will help ease their daily living expenses.
There is a sense of excitement among beneficiaries regarding the program at Lok Bhawan. The scheme is expected to benefit a large number of families and provide meaningful support to women ahead of the festive season.
