Income Tax Department Conducts Raid at Residence of BSP MLA Umashankar Singh in Lucknow

Lucknow: The Income Tax Department has carried out a search operation at the residence and office of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Umashankar Singh in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow. According to sources, more than 50 officials along with security personnel are involved in the ongoing action.

Reports indicate that Umashankar Singh is currently battling a serious illness and is undergoing treatment for cancer. He has reportedly undergone two surgeries and is staying in isolation at his residence under medical supervision. During the operation, movement of visitors to and from the residence has been restricted.

The Income Tax team has been examining documents and other related records since morning. As of now, no official statement has been released by the authorities regarding the reason behind the raid. Further details are expected to emerge once the investigation progresses.

It is noteworthy that Umashankar Singh is the sole MLA of the BSP in the state and has remained active in state politics. The development has sparked discussions in political circles across the region.
